Do storage beds need a box spring?
No. Storage beds are platform beds by design, with a slatted or solid deck over the drawer boxes, so the mattress goes straight on. That also keeps the bed at a normal height rather than raising it a box spring higher.
How much do storage bed drawers hold?
A typical rail drawer is 20 to 30 inches wide and 6 to 8 inches deep, about a large suitcase's worth each. A four-drawer queen storage bed holds roughly what a small dresser holds, and a lift-up platform bed holds far more.
Can I choose which side the drawers are on?
On most of ours, yes; the drawer rail and the plain rail are interchangeable at assembly. Decide which side of the bed has open floor before we deliver and the crew will set it up that way.
