What is the difference between counter height and bar height?
Counter height tables are about 36 inches tall and take 24-inch stools — the same height as a kitchen counter. Bar height is about 42 inches and takes 30-inch stools. Counter height is the one most people actually want at home.
Is a high top table good for a small kitchen?
Usually yes. The stools push all the way under, so the table takes less visual and physical room than a standard set with chairs, and it doubles as prep space. The exception is a household with small kids or anyone unsteady on their feet — the climb is real.
Do the stools come with the table?
On the sets, yes. Tall tables are also sold on their own so you can pick your own stools, and we carry barstools and counter stools separately for exactly that. Ask and we will price both ways.
How many stools fit at a high top table?
Allow 24 inches of table edge per stool. A 60-inch pub table seats four comfortably; square 36-inch tables seat four tightly or two well. We will lay it out against your measurements in the store.
